About Me

Dean is a Celebrity & Showbiz Expert and Cultural Commentator and currently the celebrity and entertainment columnist for Closer Magazine.

He does a solo column as Mr. Showbiz every week in the UK’s number one celebrity magazine and also does a daily blog of his adventures all over the globe.

Dean is a regular celebrity expert on BBC News 24, Sky News and Radio Five Live for high profile showbiz stories as well as working at various BBC Radio stations all over the country. He has also secured himself a regular morning showbiz slot for radio Cumbria FM on the Robbie Dee Breakfast show.

In addition Dean has appeared as a guest on Jade Goody’s PA, Pete Burns’ PA and Living with Kimberly Stewart for Living TV and as a guest panellist on the Xtra Factor alongside Faith Brown and Margharita Taylor. Dean is in constant demand for various talking head slots on Living TV, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV and ITV2.

He is a self confessed celebrity addict and started by working as a secret 3am boy for the Daily Mirror for a year before becoming a showbiz reporter at The People. Just a short eight months later he was approached to become Celebrity Editor for Loaded magazine.

Over the past three years Dean has partied and interviewed the likes of Melanie Griffith, Pamela Anderson, Ricky Martin and U2’s Bono in Cannes, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Rachel Hunter, Sophie Anderton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Girls Aloud, Kelly Osbourne, Kimberly Stewart, Mel C, Bon Jovi and Puff Daddy, amongst others.

Dean also made it in to the papers whilst working at the Mirror when he was dragged into a women’s toilet for an interview with Courtney Love where he ended up applying the punk rock Queen’s make-up and talking about her life after Kurt Cobain’s death.

His experience includes guest interviews on the recent Alex Best documentary, pundit style chats on Sky One Badly Behaved shows, like Most Annoying People of 2006 and 2007, Young, Sexy and Hollywood, Sky News, Strictly Come Dancing, an appearance on MTV covering the Loaded 10th Anniversary party, interviewing Robson Green and Phil Collins for MyMovies.net and guest slots of Liquid News.

The future is bright for Dean and he’s hoping to move into the world of television in the near future with various projects in the pipeline for 2008.
