Ronan Keating buffs up for new single Stay!

September 29th, 2009

015

Ronan Keating’s body is out of control – it’s official. Just check out his new look. Hose me down with cold water and lock me in a cupboard!

In the new video for Stay he takes his kit off to reveal his newly ripped tum. In an interview last week Ronana revealed: “I’m training about four to five times a week at the moment and I never knew I’d enjoy it this much.

“Staying fit and in shape is really a full time job and pretty difficult to manage with a busy work schedule and family life.”

There’s not much more to say apart from Ronan, I salute you. All my detoxing and running in Bushy Park of late had better start paying off like it has for Lord Ronan!

Ronan Keating’s new album Winter Songs and single Stay is out  November 16.

Jenni Falconer and Chloe Madeley party at Aura in London

September 27th, 2009

Jenni Falconer + Chloe Madeley

GMTV star Jenni Falconer and Richard and Judy’s fabulous daughter Chloe Madeley cut a pretty picture at the relaunch bash for Aura nightclub. The venue, just alongside The Ritz in central London, had fashion designer Henry Holland and DJ to the stars Sam Young spinning the tunes at the swanky bash. Aura is officially back in Vogue! I used to spend a lot of time there and I’m pleased to say the re-design is brilliant…..miles better than the old look!

Actor Trevor Eve’s daughter Alice gets a role in Sex and the City Sequel

September 27th, 2009

I hear Waking the Dead star Trevor Eve’s pretty daughter Alice has landed her first hugely mainstream film role playing the part of Charlotte’s nanny in the eagerly awaited Sex and the City sequel that’s currently shooting in New York. A source tells me: “She’s playing the nanny and was crapping her pants when in her first scene she had to run into a diner where all the four girls were eating and interrupt their conversation. She’s thrilled to have landed the part.”
Hmmmm, could this be the same Alice Eve who just this March said in one interview that she had a huge problem with the show. Alice dismissively said at the time: “I have a problem with Sex and the City in that it perpetuates a level of judgment between women.” Let’s hope that little quote doesn’t land her in hot water!

All the gossip from the Guinness 250th Birthday celebrations

September 27th, 2009

*T4 presenter Rick Edwards isn’t a fan of Mariah Carey if his comments at the Guinness celebrations are anything to go by! He told me: “I went to watch the Oprah Winfrey show and she was on. Fortunately I left before she started rubbing her fragrance on her breasts. Just the thought makes me feel a little sick.” Ouch!

*I asked David Gray what it was like being beaten in the album chart battle by Peter Andre and Dame Vera Lynn last week. She snapped: “I’ll be here long after that f***er has gone.” I think he meant Peter Andre.

*Estelle’s new album is well on it’s way to being released the singer tells me. Speaking at Arthur’s Day she said: “The last album took four years to complete and release but this one will be out within a couple of years from when we started.” The star, who nowadays lives in New York, tells me she’s upping her style for the promotional tour of her as yet to be titled single. She added: “I’m channeling Bianca Jagger this time around. She’s got great style. I won’t be doing a Lady Gaga though – I did mad outfits last time around so that’s old for me.” Ewwww.

*Alek Wek summed up my thoughts entirely on London fashion Week and this loborious debate over the size of models. Speaking at the Guinness celebrations she said: “As models, we’re like roses. We come in all sorts of different shapes, sizes, religions and colours. It’s out job to represent the designers clothing.”

Kasabian talk Robbie Williams, Oasis and hangover cures…..

September 27th, 2009

Kasabian must be happy as larry that Oasis have disbanded – they are officially the top rockers on the block! But that doesn’t mean they don’t have respect for the Gallagher brothers and their defunct band. Tom Meighan told me in Dublin to celebrate Guiness 250th Birthday: “Oasis were at the pinnacle of the music world for 16 years and despite touring with them this year we didn’t see any signs that they were falling apart. I had nights out with both Liam and Noel seperately and things were fine. It’s a sad loss that they are no longer.”
But Tom wasn’t quite so nice about Robbie Williams. Speaking of the Robster’s comeback into the charts lead singer Tom said: “Nobody knows what the hell he’s on about these days because he’s nuts – so we know he’s a bit of a monster and it’s probably best to let him get on with it. He’s probably a bit mental in his head. I mean you’re gonna be a bit fucking mental if you are Robbie Williams.” Ouch!
The lads also gave away their hangover secrets for all those suffering from the Irish celebrations. Bass player Chris Edwards told me: “A pint of strawberry flavoured Nesquick with a Dioralyte sachet dropped in.” Sounds yummy!

On the grapevine……from the Topshop bash and London Fashion Week!

September 27th, 2009

*Amber Le Bon is a girl on the edge of modelling super stardom. As well as being tipped as one of the new wave of super models the young daughter of Duran Duran singer Simon and his model wife Yasmin revealed she’s far from the wild of an evening. Speaking at the exclusive Mulberry bash at Claridges Amber said: “I don’t drink and I don’t do drugs. I never tumble of a nightclubs because I’m sober every time. I’d hate to be put in that bracket of being some party girl.” Good girl!

*Simon Cowell told me at the fabulous Topshop party that he’s rooting for the boys this year on X Factor. He revealed: “It’s all about the boys. They are strong this year and it doesn’t seem like it’ll be another year where the girls take the crown at the end of the series. I must admit I wouldn’t want to be looking after the groups. In my opinion it’s not a strong year for them.”
Simon also spoke about Leona Lewis’s huge second album Echo that gets released on November 16. The X Factor boos says he’s impressed with her new music and her new sexy image. “Leona’s really found herself and she’s come back with music and an attitude that’s so much more self assured,” Simon said. “She’s got more to say and she’s truly happy with everything right now. And you can tell that when you speak to her.” Indeed you can, Si!

*I rubbed up against Kate Moss at the front of an A-List crowd including Vivienne Westwood, Natalia Vodianova, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour and Sir Phillip Green as Bryan Ferry performed an amazing set at the Topshop bash at The Ivy Club in Covent Garden. Despite reports to the contrary Kate actually looked fab up close. Word at the fashion bash was that Kate had spent a week at a yoga retreat in Thailand prior to her appearance at London Fashion Week. The healthy living clearly paid off!

*Naomi Campbell may look like she’s effortlessly made up but it was a whole different situation when she got into the loo at the Topshop bash. My spy in the bathroom revealed: ” Naomi had this huge make-up kit that she lay out across the sink and she spent a good ten minutes touching up before she’d head outside into th paparazzi throng to leave.” Clever girl!

*Sienna Miller must have been in jet lag hell when she flew in for her critically acclaimed Twenty8Twelve show. The blonde – currently appearing on Broadway in After Miss Julie – flew in on the day for her show at London Fashion Week. The starlet managed to squeeze in an intimate dinner with her boyfriend George Barker before jetting straight back to New York that same very evening.

*Lady Victoria Hervey
has started a new business venture. She’s launched the brand new SmokeStik Royale – a revolutionary device that resembles a ciggie and fully recreates the smoking experience, including ’smoke’ without any harmful side effects. Smoking’s never been safer! It is free of carbon monoxide, tar and the cancer-causing chemicals found in traditional cigarettes and cigars. Check it out at www.smokestikroyale.com.

Sugababes Exclusive – Heidi Range talks about Keisha’s exit…..

September 27th, 2009
SUGABABES
The Sugababes have revealed how Keisha Buchanan’s exit from the group almost spelled the end for the band after 11 years.

But – choosing their favourite column to give the inside track over Keisha’s departure and new girl Jade Ewen’s arrival – the girls have vowed to come back stronger than ever.

I was the first to meet the new line-up face-to-face in London after they jetted in from LA where they’ve been filming the video for new single About A Girl.

And in an emotional interview, tearful band member Heidi Range told me: “Things came to a sudden end. We didn’t think anything was going to continue at all. We were going to split – and we’d be over.

“Then management came to us and asked Amelle and me if we would like to carry on. And we did.

“The last time I saw Keisha was terrible. We didn’t speak. I’ve sent her a message but she’s not talking to me – she doesn’t want to know. It’s been years together with the band and it’s really hard. Really hard. Everyone’s nicknamed me Tiny Tears because I’m constantly bursting into tears.”

But Heidi’s clearly positive about the future of the Sugababes – a band that’s sold close to 10 million albums.

She added: “We’ve been given a second chance. We tried everything we could to make it work with Keisha but we couldn’t keep it going with her. Life’s too short to live in an unhappy situation.

“None of us were happy – her included. It was a difficult situation.”

And it’s clear Heidi has the undivided support of fellow band member Amelle.

The star, who disappeared two weeks ago when the cracks started appearing in the band’s third line-up, says she’s ready for a fresh start as the ’Babes prepare to release new album Sweet 7.

Amelle said: “This is a new beginning. I’m very happy.

“I did need a breather so I went home and turned my phone off and ignored everybody. I wanted to work out what I wanted in life.

“Keisha and myself talked it out a lot. I saw her twice in the end when I was in LA and we were trying to sort things out. Once on my own and once with Heidi.

“I just think what’s done is done and it’s sorted. It’s time to move on.

“I’d like to be mates with her in the future and I can’t be arsed with some public war of words.”

I’ll leave the final word to the newest member of the Sugababes – former Eurovision star Jade.

She told me: “It’s slightly intimidating being in the band of course but it’s huge. I was a fan before and I want to prove myself. Everyone in the band has always been a strong vocalist and that’s what I’ve always been about.”

And talking of Keisha, Jade said: “I think I’m nothing like her, I want to bring my own personality to the table.”

I reckon this latest line-up change will be just what the doctor ordered to spice things up a bit.

There’s life in these Sugababes yet – you just wait!
