I hung out with Hollywood star Rupert Everett this week in London. His new two part documentary The Scandalous Adventures of Lord Byron premiere at the weekend and tells the story of the great Victorian sex explorer. But who’s the only sex symbol for Rupert? He quipped: “Oh me of course. I’m the only sex symbol I need.”

Rupert went on to say he is loving every minute of working with Sarah Harding on the St. Trinian’s 2 set. “I love Girls Aloud and I love her,” he told me. “Sarah is really nice – but of course I love Cheryl too. She’s very professional and taking acting seriously so it’s great to have her back this time around.” Miss Harding certainly is making it work with all this acting malarkey. Good on her!

*So how did Quentin Tarantino persuade Brad Pitt to take on a role in fab new film Inglorious Basterds, I hear you ask. Quentin tells me: “I went to his vineyard and we got through nine bottles of rose wine – they were laid out on the floor the morning after.” Sounds like a fun night to me!

*Peaches Geldof is taking her future as an actress seriously. The star’s been having private acting classes with a tutor during her recent trip to LA. Good on her!

*Dizzee Rascal is a, er, rascal if you ask me. I hear the Bonkers rapper was trying every trick in the book to flirt with pretty Rochelle from The Saturdays last week at T4 on the beach.

*Jordan appears to have found a new power gay to hang out with. The frozen-faced model was hanging out with George Michael’s boy toy Kenny Goss at Balans in Soho last week.

*So people can find happiness after a split. It turns out beautiful model Caprice has settled with a new man – businessman Juan Bacardi. Meanwhile her ex John Hitchcox is happily in love with society queen Alexandra Spencer-Churchill. Happy times.

*I’m always being asked to plug new artists – and I rarely do. But I’m liking a few new acts. Check out the fabulous Girls Can’t Catch -classic girl band pop. And new Killers style band Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. They were great when I saw them recently!

It sounds like Kelly Osbourne’s hunky model fiance Luke Worrall has settled into Osbourne life a bit too well! Kel reveals on Thursday’s ITV2 coverage of the iTunes Festival at 8pm: “Him (Luke) and my Dad really like each other. They’ve even got their own little language that they speak to each other in and it’s really annoying at times.” Bizarre!
Kelly also reveals on the show that her party days of yester year are over – for now at least! She says: “I don’t want to go out and get absolutely wasted and embarrass myself because I’m too embarrassed to actually go up and say hello to a boy. Those days are done for me….I’m a party girl at heart, put me in the right situation and it’s on!”

It’s one of the toughest questions in showbiz. What do you buy as a gift for the man who’s got everything?
Especially if said man is X Factor and American Idol judge Simon Cowell! Not only does Mr Cowell have class he’s also exceedingly hard to please. Simon’s a man that likes control in every aspect of his life and continually has a finger in every pie.
But the star was overwhelmed last night at a surprise joint 50th birthday bash with his best girlfriend Jackie St Claire. The mogul had no idea festivities for Jackie’s 50th birthday were going to be extended for him as he arrived at the bash in west  on Saturday night. And instead of spending a fortune on a fancy watch or a yacht, Jackie decided organised a dazzling performance featuring some of the music stars closest buddies.
Dannii Minogue, Amanda Holden, Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruno Tonioli and Louis Walsh cheekily mimed along to the Carly Simon chartopper You’re So Vain whilst the X Factor star stood open mouthed in shock.
A mole reveals: “Jackie went to extraordinary lengths to organise the bash for Simon. She even told the guys performing they were singing for her – but it turned out they were there for Simon. She knew the performance would really make him laugh. Dannii took the lead vocals and the others came out providing the comedy for the show. Simon was in a fit of giggles throughout – especially when Louis came out and minced along to the words. It was a fabulous surprise for him.”
Simon was clearly thrilled that the secret joint white-themed bash that I’m told she’s been working on for “months”  managed to stay a secret. My mole continues: “Dannii, Amanda and the boys were told during the week to learn the lyrics ahead of the bash so that they could perform it. Simon is always able to laugh at himself so the song really was the best choice. He is so vain – but unlike some – he actually is the first to admit it! So it was the perfect joke.”
Simon, who actually turns 50 in October but is likely to be too busy with X Factor to celebrate with all his friends together, partied the night away before a final performance from Britain’s Got Talent dancers Stavros Flatley.

A source tells me: “She’s over the moon.”

Peaches Geldof continues to weave her way into the world of fashion.

I can reveal Bob’s little girl has been chosen as the new 2009 muse of iconic fashion brand BIBA.

Peaches is clearly thrilled and tells me: “BIBA is where the foundations of the liberated woman’s choice of clothing were laid. It’s a seminal label and one that is referenced time and time again with modern trends.”

Meanwhile, the blonde just can’t seem to shake off rumours that she’s back with oil heir and actor Balthazar Getty. But the former couple are friends – and only friends. My mole says: “Sienna’s single and fancy-free. And she’s enjoying having a few men chasing her.

“Balthazar will always remain a part of her life, but they won’t be a couple again in the future.”
