Just check out minxy Rene Russo at the Kara Ross pre-Oscar bash at the fabulous Sunset Towers Hotel in LA a couple of weeks ago. Rene is still hotter than your average twenty-year-old actress and believe it or not she’s 54!
Miss Russo is once again in demand and is rumoured to shortly be starting work on the eagerly anticipated sequel to the Thomas Crown Affair where Rene and Pierce Brosnan will reprise their roles.
Also at the Kara Ross party were US stars Kerry Washington, Wolfgang Puck and his wife Tory Burch, fashion designers Gilles Mendel and Jamie Tisch and Pussy Glamore head honcho Marissa Montgomery.
BTW…..Pussy Glamore is the hottest lingerie brand right now people. Models Elizabeth Jagger and Alice Dellal model for the campaign and people were literally clawing each others eyes out to get hold of their stuff in LA while I was there. Click here to Love Pussy.

I’m the first to admit I find cars slightly dull. I make only one exception…..that fabulous movie The Italian Job.
And last night I was invited down to see the newly remastered HD quality version of the old Michael Caine classic at a posh Sky Movies screening in the cinema at London’s Soho Hotel. They’ve remastered both Zulu and The Italian Job as part of the Sky Movies Classics Michael Caine season. The channel are showcasing 10 of Caine’s films (between March 9-16) to celebrate the actors 75th birthday!
Anyway, back to the bash. Firstly, let me tell you – the Soho Hotel is ‘the shit’ when it comes to finger food and they do the best canapes in the world. Freshly battered cod and chips, goats cheese patties, hot dogs with whole grain mustard and even pizza. I was stuffed. I stood talking to Heart DJ Toby Anstis for a while. He was there with his former girlfriend who’s in a girlband nowadays. Toby’s a funny one. He shoveled a goats cheese pattie in his gob and then looked like he was gone spit it out. After a big swallow he told me: “Eeeeew. I hate goats cheese. Yuck.”
Tobes – always check the item before you start to woof it up!
I had a nice chat with the hilariously camp Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli who is just about to leave to head back to the States to judge another season of the US version Dancing with the Stars. He told me he’s excited about the new contestants. He said: “We have great new people on the show. I love Priscilla Presley so it will be amazing to have her there. I want all the Presley family there to support her throughout the season. And then there’s Steve Guttenberg. I can’t wait for him.”
The organisers at Sky pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a great cocktail hour before the film started.
They even installed a Scaletrix set for guests to enjoy. I had a race off with Pearl Lowe’s delightful model daughter Daisy. I lost naturally. She was very good and controlled her car easily. I, on the other hand, got bored and ran my car off the track so I could head to the bar!

Daisy’s incredibly sexy, exceedingly sweet and, er, hungry. I watched her gobble down fish, numerous slices of pizza and a few patties. How refreshing to see a model that eats. Daisy is living in New York currently but tells me she’s been back to the UK a lot. She said inbetween eating: “I’ve been back for shoots and jobs more than I have been living in New York. I love modeling but I’ve literally been flying everywhere without recovering from jet lag and I’m not sure what time zone I’m in anymore. It’s very confusing.
“I do love my job though – the highlight of my career was doing runway for Vivienne Westwood during London Fashion Week. It was incredible.”

My moles at The Clothes Show tell me the long running UKTV Style show is having a major revamp right now. Current pesenters Louise Redknapp, Caryn Franklin and Brendan Courtney are all facing the axe as the hunt for new lead presenters starts! They couldn’t possibly axe Caryn could they? That would be a bold move – she IS the Clothes Show!

Everyone’s favourite naughty Royal, Prince Harry, is celebrating getting back from fighting in Afghanistan by jetting off for a romantic trip to South Africa with long term girlie Chelsy Davy. My perfectly placed source spotted them a couple of hours boarding a plane for Johannesburg from Heathrow airport. My source tittered: “Harry looked happy and in love and they were holding hands in the airport. He looked like he was excited about a break after all that combat.” Have fun lovebirds!

So I thought I’d be really clever and get Katie Samuel from the Closer offices to review the new Katherine Heigl chick flick 27 Dresses in 27 words after attending the premiere last night. And she came up trumps. Katie tells me: “It’s cheesy like you would have expected it to be. It’s a film that doesn’t try to be what it’s not. Katherine Heigl is really likeable too.”
I absolutely adored Katherine in Knocked Up! I hope she’s good in this one too.
Earlier in the day yesterday at Sketch bar Mica Paris launched an amazing celebrity auction of 27 individually donated dresses from celebs including Kylie and Geri Halliwell. You can actually bid for the dresses too at www.ebay.co.uk/27dresses.
At the premiere lots of pretty celebrity ladies turned out in their Sunday best. Keisha and Amelle from the Sugababes brought the real star quality to the premiere. Amelle was with boyfriend of five years Freddie Fuller. It was his first night out since being attacked by a guy with a machete over the Christmas break. Amelle told me he’s almost back to full fitness. She said: “Freddie still goes into hospital regularly to have his arm checked but he’s almost recovered. It was a horrible time, not the nicest Christmas but we’re through it now and we’re so much stronger. I feel sorry for him all the shit he’s been through.
“We’ve been together five years now and I really hope we get married. I’m
not the kind of girl to dream about it or to drop hints though. It’s got to
be a surprise, all day long!”
Big Brother’s fashionable twins Samanda, soul diva Beverly Knight, TV presenter Tania Bryer and that burke Danielle Lloyd. I’m so over Danielle and her publicity seeking ways. There’s only two words for dirty Danielle: DESPERATE DAN! Can’t she just stay single for more than a week???

Last night was a whole lot of fun at the premiere for the new big budget Sky One film Terry Pratchett’s The Colour of Magic. It’s one of those magical family films that everyone will enjoy.
It’s always fun at a Sky event anyway (mainly because the booze flows freely at the after bash and the PR team is packed full of cheeky little devils) and I was extra excited when I was told the films star – Sir David Jason – would be walking the carpet. Del Boy himself! In real life he’s such a nice guy. He reminds me of my granddad – he’s cute, full of wisdom and, er, balding.
He told me he’d consider doing another Only Fools and Horses if “the script was right and all the other cast members were there”, said he’s not bothered about never being approached for a role in Harry Potter and admitted he’s sick of reality stars and young people getting into showbiz for fame without actually having any talent.
Also at the screening was the author himself, Terry Pratchett, and Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin who is also in the Sky production.
The only weird part of the evening was seeing some of the Pratchett fans outside the cinema. Some of the fully grown adult crowd were dressed as wizards and witches…..oh dear!
The after show bash was at Galvin – the posh Windows of the World bar in the Penthouse of the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane. The views last night were spectacular. And the venue has the best nibbles in London. Seared tuna, mini chorizo and mozzarella, tomato and basil sticks all went down my hatch…..
A perfect Monday night out!

Listen up people – a Desperate Housewives musical is on the cards!
Kyle McLachlan – who play’s Bree’s weirdo boyfriend Orson Hodge – has told Heart radio that the show’s creator Mark Cherry has already dropped hints on set. He said: “I think it is a great idea. It makes sense.”
“Mark has said that when he finishes his seven years at ABC he plans to go to Broadway and move into the musical world so maybe he does have some designs in that way. That’s all he’s said so far.”
But would Kyle want to be involved? He told Heart: “You never know. It could happen. Never say never right?”
“There is more chance of that than seeing me in a Twin Peaks musical.”

It’s fair to say Sienna Miller is better known for her fashion sense and monstrous nights out on the town rather than her acting roles. But Sienna, who’s currently filming GI Joe and stepping out with grubby looking actor Rhys Ifans, claims people consider her a proper actress before a party girl. She said: “It’s a fallacy dreamt up by the great British press that I love partying.”
The star did actually impress me last week when she avoided all the post Oscar bashes. She added: “I curled up on the couch in my PJ’s with a bottle of wine and a roast chicken for dinner. If I’m working I can’t go out – and I wasn’t nominated or anything so there’s no real reason to attend.” How refreshing to hear the little blonde putting her career before a rock and roll night out!
